Thank you for your interest in the 2008 Santa Barbara Women’s Open. This two day, mid week tournament has been ongoing for approximately 35 years. This year we will continue with both the individual stroke play format and the scramble team option. The field will be divided between the two courses, Santa Barbara Golf Club and Sandpiper Golf Club, the first day of play on Wednesday, August 6th . On Thursday, August 7th, all golfers will switch to the course they have not yet played. 

A Bar-b-que lunch will follow golf the first day at each course. The tournament will end with a Combined Awards Banquet at Events by Stella Mare’s located a half block from Santa Barbara Golf Club at 3302 McCaw Avenue. Parking is limited so if you play at SBGC on Thursday, please leave your car there and walk down to the luncheon. If you play at Sandpiper on Thursday, you will need to drive back toward SBGC. The luncheon venue is the first driveway on the right after you turn onto McCaw Avenue. If the parking lot is full, go on down to SBGC to park and walk back.

Please review the registration forms and rules documents for additional information regarding the tournament. If you are interested in putting together a Scramble Team, please pay CLOSE ATTENTION to the “Team Composition” Guidelines in the Scramble Team Rules. These are the rules are utilized for the EWGA National Championships.

NIKE has come on board again this year as a major sponsor and the tee prize will be a Nike golf shirt. We are also considering a Nike Demo Day following play on Wednesday and will forward more information on that later.
